Securing funding is often the most difficult step in the creation of a new business. For an early-stage company, convincing someone (especially a stranger) that your idea will yield a great return can be more challenging than operating the business.

Give yourself the best chance for funding by developing a compelling story that gets investors excited. The business plan is the document that tells your story.

To be considered for a Jumpstart investment, you must email an executive summary of your business plan in Word or PDF format. If the business plan is of interest to an angel, Jumpstart will invite you to make a presentation.

Business Plan

Developing a good business plan can take a long time. The key elements of a business plan are:

  • Description of proposed business
  • Management background
  • Description of potential market
  • Sales/Marketing plan
  • Use of proceeds
  • Financial projections
  • Exit strategy
  • If you do not have a complete business plan, Jumpstart will accept an executive summary. At a minimum, your executive summary should describe the proposed business, the management background and the potential market.
